Elise Maurine Milner is not just a playwright and a producer, but also a visionary, a community leader, a teacher, an artistic director, owner of 3 companies, a songwriter, a graphic designer, an actress, and an entrepreneur. She has worn every single hat there is to wear in and through every aspect of a production from making costumes, to set design, marketing, publicity, budgeting, website design, set building and design, lighting and sound, and video editing.
She has a variety of skills which have been sought after by apprentices, actors, colleagues, and students over the years. She is completely self made, mostly self taught, and began her company with just 22 cents in the bank. Since then she has built her success with 15 full scale, successfully produced, (some numerous times) Off Broadway shows, and to call her the QUEEN of self production is an understatement. Not only is she prolific, coherent, and thoughtful with her writing (her first passion) but she knows how to take a script and turn it into an entire production, from beginning to end, starting with the fundraising to put the show on, to developing the cast and crew, filling every seat in the audience, to striking the set closing night while keeping her shows relevant for months and even years. Her work experience in her field is invaluable to future generations of ambitious thespians looking to either write, act, direct, or produce on a pre-Broadway level.
Elise is available for speeches, workshops, artist in residence programs, camps, conventions, retreats, seminars, private consulting, and/or theatrical collegiate and high school programs. Elise can develop a targeted curriculum OR share her knowledge in a developed program featuring:
